f you haven’t seen it already, check out this really rare performance by KISS. It’s amazing. I was never really a big fan until I saw this show.
From world-mysteries.com:“The most puzzling however is not so much how Piri Reis managed to draw such an accurate map of the Antarctic region 300 years before it was discovered, but that the map shows the coastline under the ice. Geological evidence confirms that the latest date Queen Maud Land could have been charted in an ice-free state is 4000 BC.”
Check this page out. It’s really thought provoking. I read a book called ‘Fingerprints of the Gods’ a while back and he expounds on the idea of an ancient advanced culture. To be fair, the author - Graham Hancock - is pretty widely criticized as being unscientific. Either way the idea of some highly advanced ancient society is pretty intriguing.

So it turns out Bob Ross is alive. I guess he just needed a vacation? If you don’t know who Bob Ross is then check out his Wikipedia page. There are so many hilarious parody videos of him out there but if you haven’t seen him before you have to watch some of his real material to truly appreciate them. Good luck finding any of his real stuff though. If you search for anything with the words “Bob Ross” in the query, 95% of the reults are parodies.
Check out these smoke sculptures. I’d never heard of this before. For anyone underage, I WOULD NOT recommend telling you folks that it’s an art project for school when they catch you smoking. If you do though, try to get their reaction on video and send it my way.
Do you hate to see women doing men’s jobs? Yes? Well, maybe this will soften your views a little.
This company is selling oil lamps made from old surplus hand grenades. Epic. Other than my love of pumpkin pie scented candles (shhh…don’t tell anyone) these are the only candles I can think of that I’d be proud to display. Check ‘em out.
So “a friend of mine” recently downloaded the whole first season of a TV show. Long story short: each episode is a .mkv file. AfterDawn.com has a neat article on what the mkv container is. At any rate it’s one more reason to just use VLC (it plays everything).
Just an fyi for anyone who has a Blackberry since I had a hard time finding this fix. About a day or two ago my Blackberry 7100t (old I know) stopped sending SMS. Next to the message would be a red ‘X’ and when I opened the message it would say ‘Unassigned Number’ next to each recipient. I couldn’t figure it out. I hadn’t changed any settings. Anyway, here’s the fix: Options->SMS->Network To Send Over=”GPRS Preferred”. I had set mine to GPRS only and that had been working fine for a long time. I’m not sure why this fixes it but it worked for me.
From byte.com:
“The next time you board a plane, try not to think about this: Flight Simulator running on your notebook may be more reliable than the software that keeps planes from colliding in midair. That’s because the FAA’s air-traffic-control system still uses software from the 1970s. It runs on a vacuum-tube IBM 9020e mainframe that dates back a decade earlier.”
